First Annual Mormon Night with the Clippers 06-12-2014
Many thanks to all who came out to the first annual "Mormon Night with the Columbus Clippers" on June, 12th.
We couldn't have asked for better weather, President Nilsen (in his Columbus Clippers uniform and cap) threw out the first pitch.
The missionary choir sang the national anthem and sounded great!
The Church and the Society got great publicity with scoreboard announcements every inning.
This was the best attended event ever sponsored by the BYU Management Society's Central Ohio chapter. There were 316 tickets sold via the "Mormon Night" discount form. The Clippers are eager for us to return next year. This is the start of a great relationship with our home town baseball team.
A great shot of the Nilsens watching the game. We will miss them!
I want to especially thank Craig Sonksen for having the idea of attending a Clippers game as a group, Dimon McFerson for introducing us to the Clippers management, Ernie Shannon and his stake public affairs staff for publicizing the event and President Nilsen for allowing the missionaries to participate in the pregame activities and stick around for a few innings.
